Collection: Advent Calendars

Dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries, an Advent calendar is a unique calendar used to count the days of Advent (the beginning of the liturgical year in Western Christianity) in anticipation of Christmas. Many Advent calendars take the form of a large rectangular card or box with "doors," one for each day leading up to and including Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. When a door is opened, it reveals an image, poem, story, candy, or a small gift such a toy, action figure, mini-figure, or construction toy like you find in the calendars on this page. Advent calendars remain popular today, but they've evolved to include a range of themes such as Barbie, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Doctor Who, Marvel and DC Comics, Minecraft, Fortnite, Dragon Ball, and a host of others.
